Long Term Care Planning (Medicaid)
Advice and planning for long term care needs including:
Step One
- Fostering independence, quality of life, and dignity in the process of planning for long term care needs
- Informing clients about options available for long term care assistance, both in the community (at home or assisted living), and in the nursing home, so that clients can make informed decisions
- Discussing options for financing long term care, including the federal Medicaid program
Step Two
- Working with the client to develop a plan specific to your situation and goals
- Assisting the client in implementing that plan
Step Three
- Processing Medicaid Applications from first application to initial decision. This includes applications for Nursing Home Medicaid, Community Medicaid, or Community Care.
- Representation at Trial and Appellate Court Hearings for an increased “Community Spouse Resource Allowance” (see explanation below)
- Representation at Trial for a “Guardianship” (see explanation below) if needed
- Representation at Medicaid Administrative Hearings, if needed
- Provide new estate planning documents for the well spouse in order to ensure Medicaid is not jeopardized upon the death of the well spouse
