Community Spouse Resource Allowance
The Community Spouse Resource Allowance (CSRA) is the amount that the community spouse (well spouse) is entitled to keep without affecting the Medicaid eligibility of the institutionalized spouse (ill spouse). Depending upon the circumstances, the community spouse can request a court hearing to increase the amount of income and permit the transfer of additional resources to a community spouse above the permitted amounts. If appropriate, our office will represent you in a Petition for a court order to establish an increased asset and income allowance.
